RitmoSync vs. Wahoo SYSTM — honest comparison

What Wahoo SYSTM does well

KICKR owners

You do not need Wahoo SYSTM to use a Wahoo KICKR with RitmoSync. Modern KICKR units broadcast standard Bluetooth FTMS — RitmoSync reads power and cadence like any other FTMS app. Keep firmware updated via the Wahoo app.

SYSTM adds Wahoo-specific workout content and ecosystem features RitmoSync doesn’t replicate. If you only need live zones and FIT export without another subscription, RitmoSync works fine on KICKR hardware. See FTMS-compatible trainers and test pairing free.

Common questions

Do I need SYSTM if I own a KICKR?
No — SYSTM is optional software. The KICKR works with many apps over FTMS. RitmoSync is one option when you want structured power work without adding SYSTM’s monthly fee.
Can I export FIT from both?
RitmoSync Pro exports FIT files locally from your device. SYSTM typically syncs through Wahoo’s cloud to Strava or other services. RitmoSync never auto-uploads — you choose when to share a file.
What happened to RGT?
Wahoo acquired RGT (Road Grand Tours) and folded much of that content into SYSTM. If you used RGT for real-road video rides, SYSTM is the successor within Wahoo’s subscription — RitmoSync doesn’t offer that experience.

Who RitmoSync is for

Choose SYSTM if you want Wahoo’s full training library, video rides, and ERG plans in one subscription.
